Contractions

So wed we had an appointment at the hospital for a "cephalic version". This is a procedure to try to turn the baby by applying pressure on the outside of the abdomen. After being there for an hour, they finally got the sonagram machine out and discovered that the baby was head down! Two nights previous, Stacey was up much of the night with lots of movement from Baby Chana. I guess she did the flip then. Much relieved, we celebrated with a big breakfast. We also had a regular OB appointment that afternoon and understood that Stacey is 50% effaced and a few centimeters dialated.
All afternoon and night, Stacey had contractions about 15 minutes apart and 15 seconds in duration. We thought we were off to the races! This was complicated by Cousin Katie's wedding in a few days. Luckily the contractions stopped and all seems to be well. Our official due date is Sept 22nd and the baby is in the correct position, so all we have to do is wait. After many weeks of not sleeping well and being uncomfortable, the new head down position seems to be making Stacey more comfortable and we are thankful for that.

Off to celebrate with the Kenly's!
